WHEN STEPSAPP IS THE BETTER PICK

If you mostly care about your own numbers, StepsApp has the prettiest charts in the category, a real Watch app, and GPS workouts. Get it, it is good software. If you mostly care about beating Dave, get Stride. They read the same HealthKit steps, so nothing stops you from running both.

Do Stride and StepsApp count steps differently?

No. Both read from Apple Health, so the numbers match. Only the consequences differ.

Does Stride have a Watch app?

Not yet. Your iPhone counts steps either way, so the leaderboard does not care.
